Dorothy Beaton (Dottie) began dancing at her mother’s DeLutis School of Dance and continued her studies in NY, Jacob’s Pillow and Boston Conservatory as a Dance Major.  Her professional career includes the Christopher Ryder Revue, touring New England with the Dancemakers and performing at Carnegie Hall with the Hungarian Folk Dancers of Boston.

Dottie and her sister Rosemarie were co-owners, co-operators and dance instructors at DeLutis school of Dance for over 4 decades and was a faculty member at the Franklin School of Performing Arts for 10 years.  In 2012 she was honoured to receive the prestigious FSPA Faculty Award and is an active member of Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston and Dance Masters of New England.

In 2010, realizing the value of dance and music as a healing force she trained at the Mark Morris Dance Group in Brooklyn, NY and became a certified instructor of Dance for Parkinsons where this unique program originated.  She is presently teaching Dance for Joy for those living with PD on Cape Cod.

Dottie continues to foster her love of dance to all and believes there’s a dancer in everyone just waiting to come out!
