Barbara Wynter is a semi-retired adult nurse practitioner with a varied career to include membership in the United States Army, precepting for Regis College, Simmons college, and Northeastern University. She has also taught for Cape Cod College LPN to RN program.

Her nursing experience includes more than 20 years in the long-term care field as well as intensive care experience, emergency room, endoscopy and hospice care. Barbara has worked as a hospitalist for Beth Israel Jordan, Brockton Hospital, and Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital.

While employed at Braintree rehab hospital she was a member of a multidisciplinary Parkinson’s team to include neurologists from Boston University, physical therapists, nurses, patients and their families. Over a ten-year period the program became fine-tuned and is currently well known for its measurable success and quality of life improvement.

For enjoyment and physical health Barbara has been dancing for 10 years with Adam Spencer who owns and directs the Adam in Chatham dance studio on Cape Cod. She has specific experience with Parkinson’s disease as well as other movement disorders and that coupled with her dance experience would provide a valuable resource needed  for a structured program here on the Cape.  Barbara believes dance improves mobility, socialization, and simply adds joy to the lives of those with a movement disorder.
